Windows NT Setup Guide - Free Dialup UK

Follow the instructions below to setup your dialup connection on a Windows NT operating system with Free Dialup UK connection settings.

Important - We recommend printing this page before you begin.


1. You will need your NT4 installation CD to complete this installation

2. Install Dial-up Networking. Double click the My Computer icon on your desktop.

3. Double click the Dial-up Networking icon in the window that opens.

4. Click Install on this window. After Dial-up Networking is installed you will be presented with a warning that the phone book is empty. Click on OK.

5. Type in a phonebook name such as Free Dialup UK. Click on next.

6. Tick all three tickboxes, click on next.

7. Type 0845 123 20 95 into the Telephone number box and leave Use Telephony dialing properties unchecked. Click on next.

8. Select Point-to-Point Protocal (PPP) and click on next.

9. Select None, click on next.

10. Leave My IP address as 0's, click on next.

11. Leave DNS server and WINS server as 0's, click on next. Click Finish.

12. On the next screen, click More and select Edit entry and modem properties. Select the Server tab at the top of the window.

13. Select PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet from the Dial-up server type. Select TCP/IP and leave all other boxs unchecked. Click on next.

14. Select Server assigned IP address and Server assigned name server addresses. All fields will contain 0's and the bottom two options must be selected. Click OK to each of the open windows until you are back to step 12. Click on Dial.

15. Type in username (freedialup) and password (password) and select the Save password box and click connect. You will now be connected to your new account.


Congratulations! You have setup your new Internet connection.
